Cala Faraglione - Levanzo: relaxation and sea among the rocks

A peaceful spot between white cliffs and clear water

Cala Faraglione is one of the most scenic and secluded coves on the east coast of Levanzo, the smallest and wildest of the Egadi Islands. Located near the rock of the same name emerging from the sea, this cove offers a spectacular landscape of white rocks, turquoise sea and total silence.

Perfect for those who enjoy swimming, relaxing on flat rocks or snorkeling in clear waters, Cala Faraglione is a lesser-known but incredibly fascinating stop, ideal for those seeking authentic experiences in contact with nature.

How to reach Cala Faraglione

The easiest and most impressive way to visit it is with a boat or dinghy excursion around Levanzo. Tours depart from Trapani or Favignana and often include stops at the island’s wildest coves, including Cala Faraglione.

It can also be reached on foot from Cala Dogana, following the coastal paths heading north, but the route is recommended only for those used to walking on rocky, uneven terrain. The stretch by sea is definitely more comfortable and spectacular.

Relaxation, nature and crystal clear sea

The cove looks like a natural platform of smooth rock, perfect for lying in the sun and diving into the water. The seabed is clear and gently sloping, ideal for calm swimming and snorkeling. The surrounding cliffs protect the cove from the winds, making the sea often calm and clear as a mirror.

The stacks that give the cove its name are located not far from the coast, and create a striking photographic landmark. Swimming to the stacks is easy and safe, and gives a unique perspective on the eastern coast of Levanzo.
